The Port Regulations

The piers / areas located at Kystvej 55 in Aabenraa are owned by Aabenraa Sailing Club (abbreviated ASC).

Aabenraa Sailing Club operates the harbour and ensures the maintenance of order.

For Aabenraa Marina, the currently applicable ”Standard Regulations for the Maintenance of Order in Danish Marina and Small Fishing Harbors”

For Aabenraa Sailing Club's harbour facilities – both water and land areas – the following regulations also apply:

The owner of any boat in the harbor must familiarize themselves with the contents of these regulations, which can be found on the club's website.

Aabenraa Sailing Club's harbor facilities are, as the term "marina" indicates, designated as a home for pleasure boats, assessed here as boats originally built for recreational sailing, or converted in such a way that they appear and are used as pleasure boats.

Assigned seats may not be resold, subleased, or lent out.

The berths are administered by the Port Authority, which, in connection with regattas and similar events, can demand that a specific number of berths be vacated for a short period (max. 8 days). In such cases, the Port Authority is obligated to assign an alternative berth.

At the start of the summer season and no later than May 15, permanent boats must be provided with a valid annual sticker that MUST be placed so that it is easily visible from the dock. The annual sticker is issued at the harbor office upon presentation of a receipt for paid liability insurance for the boat. This also applies to boats that remain on land during the sailing season.

The boat owner is required to display a red/green sign. In the event of an absence exceeding 24 hours, it is flipped to green. At the same time, the use of the white ”return” sign is encouraged. Upon request, the port authority is happy to flip the sign to red the day before return.

Boat owners who do not use their boat berth due to boat sale / repair or other reasons must notify the harbor office. Berth rent / seasonal rent is not refunded.

Piles and piers must not be equipped with any form of aids without the Harbor Authority's approval, and these must be removed no later than when the boat is hauled out. Any permanently mounted stairs on the piers must be of the approved model.

It is forbidden to provide unmanned boats with heating.

Visiting boats are directed to use the green spaces at the piers and must immediately pay the fee according to the current rate at a payment machine or per the website.

Boats must not be secured to bulkheads, bridges, clearance marks, or similar structures, but only to the mooring devices provided for that purpose.
The mounted brackets on the poles are ONLY for hanging ropes while the space is vacant.

Mooring lines must be appropriate for the boat’s size and weight (see the manufacturer’s instructions; for example, a breaking strength of 75% times the boat’s weight) and must be shock-absorbing; similarly, the owner must personally monitor the boat when weather conditions warrant it.

The boat owner alone is responsible for any damage the vessel may cause.

Use of the harbor's electric cranes is at your own risk (the cranes are inspected annually). The mast crane must not be used to lift people.

During crane operations, clear signs must be posted at the entrance, and the crane operator's instructions must be followed. Helmets MUST be worn during crane work.

Boats, stands and masts may only be placed in the designated areas by agreement with the Port Authority.

Ladders in the winter storage area must be secured to prevent theft from one's own or others' boats. Loose ladders will be removed.

Both boats and boat trailers, etc., remaining in the harbor areas without permission or beyond an agreed time limit, the Harbor Authority is entitled to immediately remove at the owner's expense and risk.

When cleaning the boats, maximum environmental considerations must be taken in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements. Cleaning must not take place on the quay area. As little antifouling paint as possible should be washed off.
During major cleaning or sanding of antifouling paint, it must be collected and disposed of. Any damage to other boats caused by sanding dust, etc., is the responsibility of the person who caused the damage.
Application of antifouling paint that is not permitted under Danish legislation is prohibited.

• Storage of the mast including any mounted equipment in the mast shed is at your own risk.
• Antennas, radars, spreader horns, or similar protruding equipment must be dismantled due to space limitations.
• Masters must be placed on the correct shelf according to their length.
• The headsail furler should lie with the drum in line with the mast (and not next to it).
• The mast must be marked with name, membership number and phone number.
• Respect other members' equipment. If it is necessary to move other people's equipment, the owner must be contacted.
• The gate must be locked after use.

• Every boat owner is responsible for their own cradle.
• All boat stands must be approved by the Harbor Authority.
• The port authority's approval must not be confused with the insurance requirements.
• All stands must be folded or be stackable after launching.
• Carts and racks that cannot be folded must be removed from the Aabenraa Sailing Club area.

Storage of sea kayaks, dinghies, and paddleboards in the harbor areas must be agreed upon with the Port Authority.

• Dogs must be kept on a leash. Dogs are very welcome, but their waste must be picked up.
• For temporary parking of boat trailers, the Harbour Authority's instructions must be followed.
• Users of the harbor must clean up after themselves.
• Both may remain unused for a maximum of 3 years, both on land and in the water. The board may subsequently demand that the boat be removed.

Every boat owner must keep their boat covered by liability insurance.

Aabenraa Sailing Club provides a watch duty roster during the winter season. Violation of the regulations set forth herein may be brought before the board for a decision regarding membership status.

This set of rules has been drawn up by the club's board of directors and harbor committee and may be amended as needed. The regulations apply to boats - both in the water and on land.
